Predicting Death in Astrology

Astrology has been part of human spirituality since about 3000 B.C.. At that time, astrology played a larger part in people’s lives than today. Ancients used it to determine the course of every aspect of their -and even set out to learn the dates of their deaths. In modern society, astrology isn’t as influential.

Today, there are the ethical considerations. Astrologers are required to enhance the quality of life of a person by guiding him in a path which is favorable to him as per his chart.Certainly not many people want to hear that they will be murdered by their own mother, father, wife, mistress, brother, sister, son, daughter, grandson, a very close relative, friend or business partner or a prostitute or the Government (death penalty) plague, diseases or 000’s of reasons or ways that will either kill them or will be the cause of their death. It is expressly against the code of ethics of most astrological organizations. It is not an astrologers place to cause duress or fear in clients, nor to have influence over such matters.

Generally a person is the best judge himself or herself and may get indications of challenging times. There is no rocket science here. The self-indications are realized through practical means and rational thinking. Feelings of doom, depression, hopelessness, helplessness etc. are major indicators (especially regarding suicide) that should be noticed. The crucial point is how one plans to deal with these. Taking or seeking appropriate help and leading a simple life based on spiritual principles helps and raises the mind to a higher level of detachment, dispassion and discrimination. This is the best roadmap for people who seek counsel in a distressed state because feeling down is cyclical, it’s our outlook on these feelings that dictate peace. Live a simple life. Astrology DOES recognize both the positive and negative aspects of life and it's important to be able to talk about them in a constructive and empowering manner that ultimately leads to growth in whatever capacity it is able to.

First we must understand that “death energy” is not the same as death itself. It might be necessary to determine if what you’re seeing in a chart is simply describing a period of tumultuous change. Just because planets and houses indicate that there is a great deal of death energy at a particular time in an individual’s chart doesn’t mean that the time and place of this energy will result death. A great deal depends on the individual’s expectations and actions.

In my experience using Jyotish, there are three categories of death:

  • Not conscious death-when the native is/was sleeping.

  • Unconscious death-when native is in pain, suffering, freaks out while native faces

  • dangers where death is imminent. Here native knows he’s dying but doesn’t want to die. When the adrenaline is high the native dies like in a murder, car accident, ect.

  • Conscious death-Spiritual death, through meditation process, to leave at will, which is moksha karaka the bringer of salvation. Thus a Peaceful death. Only 1% of the population dies this way.

There are a few handful of guidelines and hundreds of interpretations how death may take place. Regardless, some aspects of a chart might be more related to death and transitions than others. Yet, all planets play a part of predicting death in an astrology chart. Saturn is involved in predicting a long and drawn-out death, but can also predict a long and uneventful life, as well. Mercury can be involved in predicting deaths from chronic illnesses. Sudden deaths can also be suggested by Ketu which is tied to surgical deaths, or Rahu which is tied to water-related and drug-related deaths. Mars is considered a “trigger,” tied to swift and violent deaths. Jupiter and Venus are both typically present in predicting a death aspect. It is incumbent to examine the entire chart to understand the influences of the planets on death.

Generally speaking, the eighth house in a person’s chart is typically associated with the death aspect, depending on whether planets traditionally considered benefic (positive) or malefic (negative) are present there. These designations are also divided into weak and strong. Even still, planets are not the only influence in the eighth house. The solar return, progressions, and directions can also indicate the activation of the death aspect. Once the eighth house has been activated, there is a good chance that other other malefic houses (sixth and twelfth) will be activated, as will be the fourth house -the house of endings.

I strongly believe that birth & death is controlled by the Creator. And so our skymap can warn us -based on dashas and progressions and other various time periods. Many a times, I noticed that the transit of Rahu on birth time Rahu (especially when interacting with the 8th house), or Gochar Rahu passes exactly opposite to birth time Rahu, then it’s best to take care of ones-self. Yet the there are many remedies for all these circumstances.

Before closing I would like to leave some considerations and homework for those initiates who are truly interested in this subject.

Yes ,there are ways to predict death through Vedic astrology that require detailed calculations and exact birth time , both of which are rarely available. Again, predictions of death are avoided, as such predictions create unwanted stress in the mind of people. rather periods of harmful events, and preplanning are advised. But, yes there are methods available to predict death.

Hints for you to explore and research yourself:

Just before a child is born there is an exact moment when soul enters into body , at this moment a fiber of time is allotted to soul as life during the birth, which decides when the soul will depart. Consider it like conception. This exact moment of entry of the soul is given in scriptures but is shrouded or hidden. Once you find it make an event chart of that time. Then use a special dasha in that chart to predict exact time of death. It's science and not a vague guess. Governments use these techniques.

As per my experience in Astrology field, I can say that Astrology is based not only on principles or mathematics, but intuition. As always, best of luck to you and all you do!
